Q. Can my child retake an exam he/she did poorly on?
A. No, as per department policy we do not offer retakes on any exams. However, they can come before/after school and complete a test analysis and earn some points to help their grade.
Q. My student is struggling, what can I do?
A. There are many resources available to help struggling students. Each class period’s notes are posted on my website after class. These can be a great help when completing homework and studying for tests. There is also math lab T, W, Th from 2:30-3:30 where they can receive additional assistance. I am also available before and after school for approximately 30 minuets to help. The best advice I can give is to pay attention in class, take good notes, complete every homework assignment on time and study for the exams.
Q. What can my child do to raise their grade?
A. There are many things that your child can do to raise their grade they are as follows:
Q. My student has to miss class, what can he/she do to make up the material missed?
A. If your student has to miss class for ANY reason it is their responsibility to learn the material that they missed. Notes are posted every day of the work we complete on the board in class, they can use their book to help teach themselves, they can come to math lab, come in early or after school and finally there are videos posted to help learn difficult concepts. Finally when they are absent the assignment due the day they missed and the assignment assigned are DUE upon RETURN TO CLASS. If a student is absent on the day of a test review they are still required to take the test the day they return and if a student is absent the day a test is given they will be required to take the exam the day they return to class. There is no replacement for time missed in class.
All late work, make up work, absence work, retake quizzes, and homework corrections are due the day we take the Unit Test. This is to not encourage procrastination and help them study by completing these tasks before the test. The best advice I can give is to stay caught up and study.

Q. What can my child do to raise their grade?
A. There are many things that your child can do to raise their grade they are as follows:
- Come to class every day
- Turn in all assignments on time
- Study daily and especially for tests. Turn in all notes. Use this website as a tool to find notes, helpful websites and videos.
- Retake quizzes, students can retake quizzes as many times as they would like to get a 5. I recommend retaking quizzes as the unit progresses and definitely before the unit test. However, students do have one week after the unit test to continue to retake quizzes.
- Complete homework corrections. Once students get their graded homework back they can take it home and complete homework corrections and receive full credit on all homework assignments that have been completed and turned in on time. There is a required cover sheet on my back table and online.
- Do a test analysis after exams. Students may come before/after school and complete a test analysis which will add points to their test category. It must be complete in class and with the proper rubric also found on the back table.
